Trevor Hawkins

Paintings

Trevor Hawkins was born in Melbourne, in 1954. He began painting and selling his work through galleries as a teenager. By his early twenties, Trevor was working full-time as a landscape artist in oils and watercolours, before establishing and running a successful screen-printing business for the next 21 years, all the while continuing to create and exhibit abstract acrylics on canvas.

Turning his focus to angling and wildlife art, Trevor devoted the next two decades to producing highly detailed works of fish and birds across a variety of mediums, from watercolour and acrylic to digital painting and wood carving. His illustrations feature in flyfishing books and publications, and his reputation as one of Australia’s foremost angling artists has earned him collectors worldwide.

Most recently, Trevor has returned to capturing the landscapes and seascapes that first inspired him; river valleys, coastlines, and rural vistas that speak to him on a soul level. Using oils and acrylics applied with a palette knife, he creates bold, textured impasto works that celebrate the wild places he loves to explore.
